Guru Pornima
Guru Purnima is celebrated to honor and express gratitude to spiritual and academic teachers (gurus) for removing ignorance and imparting knowledge. Observed on the full moon day of Ashadha, it marks the birth anniversary of Veda Vyasa and commemorates the day Lord Shiva became the first guru, the Adi Guru.
